Hyena v12.7 Released

Hyena v12.7 has been released and is now at rev 'B'. Hyena v12.7 is available in both x86 and x64 versions in English, French, German, and Spanish. Hyena v12.7 is available as a free update if your maintenance expiration date is after November 1, 2017. See the 'Hyena Maintenance' topic below for information on updating and how to check the maintenance expiration date. Any customer which purchased a Hyena v12.5 license is eligible for a free upgrade to v12.7 as well.

Select From File

Hyena can now select entries in the list window (right results window) from any matching designated column in a text file. This feature is useful if an external source of information needs to be used as a basis of finding and selecting the matching or non-matching items from, for example, the results of an Active Directory query. Options include file delimiter options, matching field selection, selection or non-selection results clearing, and a 'preview' option to view results.

Other Changes include:

• Rev 'B' (Dec 11, 2017) - Increased AD queries limit to 300.
• Rev 'B' (Dec 11, 2017) - Added 'Triggered' to service type for triggered services.
  
  
• Added 'View Group Memberships' to computer context menu.
• Added Service description to service display fields. To use this option, add the description column under Tools > Settings > Display.
• Added support for printable string, numeric string, and exact string data types to Active Task.
• Improved support for Dynamic Distribution Groups.
• Created warning to discourage symbols in first two columns of Active Directory queries.

Exporter Pro Updated to v3.2.5 (rev 'F')

Exporter Pro has been updated to v3.2.5, with a new /NOMSG command line for suppressing popup errors when run as a scheduled task. When logging is enabled and this option is used, any errors normally in a popup dialog will be redirected to the log file. Exporter Pro v3.2.5 is included with Hyena v12.7.

Copying a single value from Active Directory

Often, its useful to be able to copy the value of a single Active Directory attribute. To do this, display the directory entries into Hyena's right window, then select the objects (rows) whose values you want to copy. Select Edit > Copy (Control-C). On the Copy dialog, select the 'Clipboard' option, uncheck the option to show the field headings, and make sure to select to copy 'Selected Items Only'. On the 'Columns to Copy' list, select the attribute you want to copy.

Most of these settings are saved the next time this dialog opens, so future copies will require only selecting the attribute value to copy and pressing Enter.

In the next version of Hyena, we will be adding a new context menu option to do this directly.

All Hyena licenses have a built-in maintenance expiration date, which can be displayed under the Tools > Settings > Licensing dialog. The maintenance expiration date determines whether new releases can be installed with the active license. If your maintenance has recently expired or is about to expire, it can be renewed now. If you prefer to get an email quotation on maintenance renewal, send your current license information to sales@systemtools.com and request a maintenance renewal quote. You can easily get the current license information under Hyena's Tools > Settings > Licensing dialog.

If your maintenance expiration date is before November 1, 2017, the upgrade cost is only 50% of the licensing cost, which includes one year of maintenance. Maintenance expirations on or after November 1, 2017 can be renewed now.
