Hyena v13.5 Released Hyena v13.5 has been released and is available in both x86 and x64 versions in English, French, German, and Spanish. Hyena v13.5 is available as a free update if your maintenance expiration date is after May 13, 2019. See the 'Hyena Maintenance' topic below for information on updating and how to check the maintenance expiration date. Any customer which purchased a Hyena v13.2 license is eligible for a free upgrade to v13.5 as well. Hyena v13.5 can be downloaded from: https://www.systemtools.com/hyena/download.htm AD Query Container Targeting Hyena's AD query capabilities have been expanded to now allow a default query to be assigned to one or more AD containers. Previously, an administrator's knowledge of what is in a particular AD container would require manually selecting the query to be executed from the context menu. With this new feature, a specific set of containers/OUs can be assigned to be the default view. This saves time when using customized queries to view specific object attributes. Moreover, a top-level container can be used as a wildcard to target all sub-containers. Other Changes include:
-
Added 'Protect object from accidental deletion' on object Property dialogs (Security page).
-
Prevented executing a query when nothing is selected.
-
Changed caption of 'Active Editor' to 'Active Tools' (Tools > Settings) and added option to change Active Task default directory.
-
Added check for 'IIS APPPOOL' in the 'Show Logged On Users' function to prevent domain lookup errors.
-
Added checks in several functions to prevent adding a group as a member of itself.
-
Corrected the display when the DnDisplayFormat setting is '1' and the object is at the root of the directory.
Hyena v13.5 Updated to 13.5.1 (rev 'B') Hyena v13.5 has been updated to 13.5.1 (Rev 'B'). One important change in this release is a workaround for a new Microsoft bug introduced in a recent Windows Server 2016 update (14393.3085) that causes some functions that list users and global groups to fail with an 'Internal Error' message. This problem has been reported to Microsoft and they have indicated that they are aware of the issue. But since there isn't any known timetable on when another Windows update will be available to fix this issue, we felt the best course of action was to come up with our own solution to work around this error. While only a handful of Hyena functions are impacted by this issue, if using Hyena in an environment with Windows Server 2016 build 14393.3085 or later, or Windows Server 2019, this update should be installed. Other changes include:
-
Rev 'B' - Corrected issue with the German version not recognizing 'NT-AUTORITAT' as being a builtin security context and not a domain.
-
Rev 'B' - Corrected right window display for policies where the computer policies were disabled.
-
Rev 'B' - Fixed problem with 'domain' lookup for local users with 'IIS APPPOOL' source.
-
Rev 'B' - Added sorting to the user rights display in the left tree window.
-
Rev 'B' - Fixed problem where OUs protected from accidental deletion did not display correctly on the OU Properties dialog.
Hyena v13.7 Preview We've begun work on the next release of Hyena, and are making a preliminary download available to existing customers. Note that to run this version, you will need to have maintenance with an expiration date AFTER August 1, 2019. There is only one significant change in Hyena v13.7 from all previous versions: Hyena v13.7 has a new top application interface. While we know that most current Hyena users are more concerned with functionality over appearance, new potential customers may desire a more modern looking application. To get a preview of the direction we are going with Hyena, visit our Hyena v13.7 preview page here: https://systemtools.com/hyena/hyena137-preview.htm
